North Shore Presbyterian was started in 2011 to reach the growing northern suburbs of Townsville with the good news of Jesus. A group of thirty-one adults and four children from Willows Presbyterian formed the original congregation, which was named 'Northside'. Andrew Millsom was our minister; he is still our minister today. David Cumberbeach was our 'man Friday' providing admin & tech support. And Ian Putt and Vince Wharton were our elders; they remain elders today.
For our first six years we met in community halls at Bohlevale State School and Northern Beaches High School, before moving to our church building at North Shore in 2017 and changing our name to 'North Shore Presbyterian Church'. In 2021 we employed Kristie Tunnah one day a week to run our playgroup 'Playtime'.
Throughout this time we have sought to present the good news of Jesus to people and help one another grow in our faith in Jesus. We have seen God at work in some amazing ways and look forward to seeing what He will do in the future.
